Description

Murray Cod – Please call 08 72286888 for availability POA. Freshwater Murray cod are a species suitable for aquaculture, aquaponics and farm dams however are a highly territorial and aggressive fish and will not tolerate high salinity levels. Regular grading is required to prevent cannibalism in tanks but Murray Cod adapt extremely well to re circulation systems. They become schooling fish when they are stocked at higher densities and cannot establish territories. Generally quite hardy, however may be susceptible to bacterial and fungal infections at high stocking densities.

Water sources for the operation should be free of pesticides and other contaminants.  Edible at 500-600g in around 12-18 months.
